5. Fred’s Mexican Cafe. 527 5th Avenue; Gaslamp. 2470 San Diego Ave; Old Town. 1165 Garnet Ave; Pacific Beach. Located in prime areas throughout San Diego, this Mexican restaurant has great drink specials and $2 tacos on Taco Tuesdays. Celebrating Taco Tuesday from 4 pm until closing, drink specials include $4.50 margaritas, $5 shots of Patron, and $2.50 PBR drafts. Enjoy free endless chips and salsa, low-priced drinks and tacos at this popular Mexican destination. Highly recommend the mahi tacos and margaritas.
4. PB Bar & Grill. 860 Garnet Avenue; Pacific Beach. One of the original Taco Tuesday spots, serving 16 different types of tacos and half off Mexican entrees. A young, hip place that’s partially outdoors and indoors with a fun atmosphere one block from the beach.
3. La Puerta. 560 4th Avenue; Gaslamp. This Mexican bar in downtown SD is a great, fun place for Taco Tuesday. $2 tacos, $2 TJ Dawgs, $2 Tecate beer from 3 pm until 1 am.
2. Brigantine. 2725 Shelter Island Drive; Point Loma. With fresh fish, this nice restaurant has some of the best fish tacos in San Diego. Taco Tuesday (all day) prices: fish $2, calamari $2, chicken $2, carne asada $3, carnitas $3, and more. There are 6 other Brigantines across the San Diego county, but this is the best location. Other locations include Eastlake, Poway, La Mesa, Escondido, Del Mar and Coronado Island. The fish tacos are the best I have ever had. Skip the calamari tacos.
1. South Beach Bar & Grille. 5059 Newport Avenue; Ocean Beach. One of the best, if not the best, fish tacos in San Diego with the freshest fish and great variety of tacos from grilled shark, wahoo, carne asada, ceviche, fried oyster and more for only $2.50 a taco. Hard to find seats on Tuesdays, so arrive early!

I cannot think of a cooler taco tuesday experience than Brigantine. It is a relaxing and warm setting with a fireplace on cool nights. The fish tacos are the bomb as mentioned above but the real treat was $1.75 oyster shooters they have on the happy hour menu. Best oysters in SD and served in a shot glass.
La Finca D’Adobe is THE WORST place for Taco Tuesday! No customer service whatsoever! You can’t find a table, wait staff takes forever to just get your drinks! Forget about another round! Don’t go there! It may be cheap, but where your saving in money your wasting in time!
