I cannot think of a cooler taco tuesday experience than Brigantine. It is a relaxing and warm setting with a fireplace on cool nights. The fish tacos are the bomb as mentioned above but the real treat was $1.75 oyster shooters they have on the happy hour menu. Best oysters in SD and served in a shot glass.

I appreciate the useful information as I am new in San Diego and never heard of Mount Soledad or Cabrillo National Monument. I went to Cabrillo this weekend and could see Coronado, downtown, and the airport. Next time I am bringing my camera.

Another place you don't want to miss in San Diego is Coronado Island. You can take ferry from downtown San Diego over to Coronado ($3 each way) or drive across the Coronado Bridge. Visit the historic Hotel Del Coronado, glide the waterways in an Italian style gondola, relax on a clean and sunny beach, rent a bike and bicycle along the coast, or explore the upscale shops.

With 70 miles of coastline San Diego has lots of beaches. If you enjoy hiking, I'd recommend Torrey Pines. It's one of the beaches that is less crowded and you can hike the trails at Torrey Pines Reserve, which is right next door. In fact, one of the trails leads down to the beach.
