I had been looking forward to The National playing again for some time, and though I was disappointed it wasn’t going to be at The Casbah as it was when they played on my bithday last year, I thought the House of Blues might serve them well. Oh, Rosey, someday you’ll stop being so naive.
I arrived at the House of Blues at 6:20 pm. I was meeting a couple friends of mine for happy hour, and I thought if there was an issue with my ticket and photo pass, that would allow for time to fix the problem before the show. I’m trying to get more info on this show to verify that it is legit. The listing I posted has Man Man, The National, Cat Power, Bus Driver, Dan Deacon @ UCSD (Rimac Arena). What I read was that the show is free for UCSD students with valid ID, $21 for non-students. I have a couple calls in to see if, in fact, this show is happening or if I’ve been punked. I will post as soon as I hear information.
Note, since Man Man has an in-store at Austin that same day, and since Cat Power had all those cancellations, I’m thinking this listing might have been from 2007. I can’t be sure. The info was on SanDiegoPunk.com for those of you asking.

So it’s my birthday, officially, as I type this, but last night I had pre-birthday evening at the Wine Cabana, home of a heavy pour and owned by my good friend Keith. If you are a fan of wine, I highly recommend checking out the Wine Cabana in Old Town. I was fortunate enough to park my car and grab a ride to the Casbah and then a ride back home. So I guess I’ll spend my Friday taking the bus to my coche. Anyway, I’m sorry for the flash of my bra in these pics, but I really clearly have no shame. Whatevs…it was great to be with friends.
